C++ is still the language most campus placement tests and DSA rounds expect, and the theory round almost always asks about pointers, OOP and virtual functions. These notes cover exactly that, one concept per page, in the order you should learn it.

What makes these C++ notes different?

  • Pointers explained with pictures. Hand-drawn diagrams for pointers, stack vs heap, shallow vs deep copy and the vtable.
  • The OOP questions interviewers ask. Why a copy constructor takes a reference, why you need a virtual destructor, how the diamond problem is solved.
  • STL you will actually use. A table of every common container with its time complexity, plus the traps, like map[key] silently inserting a key.
  • Hinglish where it helps. Every hard concept gets a short Hinglish explanation next to the English definition.

How should you use these C++ notes?

Compile and run every snippet, and guess the output before you read the answer. The output-based questions near the end are the kind that appear in online assessments. The last page is a one-page cheat sheet for the night before the interview.

FAQ

Questions about these notes

Are these C++ notes really free?

Yes. The full 26-page PDF is free; email me to request the complete PDF. Share it with friends preparing for placements.

Do these notes cover OOP in C++ for interviews?

Yes. Ten of the 26 pages are OOP: classes, constructors, copy constructors and deep copy, static and friend, inheritance and the diamond problem, operator overloading, virtual functions with the vtable and vptr, abstract classes and virtual destructors.

Are these notes enough for DSA in C++?

They cover the C++ and STL you need to write DSA solutions: vector, map, set, unordered_map, stack, queue, priority_queue, sort with custom comparators, lower_bound and lambdas. They do not teach DSA algorithms themselves.

Can I print these notes?

Yes. Every page is A4, so the PDF prints cleanly at home or at a print shop.
