HireMate is an AI career tool that evaluates a resume or self-description against a job description, surfaces the exact skill gaps, and generates a preparation plan with technical and behavioural interview questions.

What it does

  1. The user pastes a job description and uploads a resume or writes a short self-description.
  2. Google's Gemini API (@google/genai) analyses both texts.
  3. The response is validated against a Zod schema, so the app always receives well-formed, structured data.
  4. HireMate shows a skill-gap breakdown, a step-by-step preparation plan, and likely technical and behavioural interview questions with answers.

Why structured output matters

LLMs sometimes return malformed or incomplete JSON. Validating every response with Zod means the UI never renders broken data, and invalid responses can be retried automatically instead of crashing the page.
